Terms & Conditions
Effective August 15, 2026 · Applies to the PaisaVault Android app
Acceptance
By installing or using PaisaVault, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
The app is provided as-is
PaisaVault is provided as-is, for personal budget tracking, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied.
Your data, your responsibility
Your data lives only on your device unless you back it up yourself. Uninstalling the app, factory-resetting or resetting your phone, clearing app storage, or device loss/damage will permanently erase your local data. We do not store a copy anywhere and cannot recover lost data under any circumstances - back up regularly to Google Drive, Dropbox, or Offline Backup (Settings → Profile), or use Sync with Family to keep a second device up to date.
Offline Backup writes to the same device's own storage, so on its own it does not protect against device loss, theft, or damage - copy the backup file elsewhere (another device, an SD card, cloud storage) if that matters to you.
Third-party services
Sign in with Google, Google Drive Backup, Sign in with Dropbox, and Dropbox Backup are all optional, and each is governed by that provider's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy in addition to these terms. PaisaVault has no control over Google's or Dropbox's systems and is not responsible for their availability, changes, or outages.
Sync with Family
Sync with Family transfers your data, encrypted with a passphrase you choose, directly to another device over your local Wi-Fi network. You are responsible for only syncing with devices and networks you trust, and for choosing a passphrase the other party actually knows - it is the only thing preventing someone else on the same network from completing the sync.
Not financial advice
PaisaVault does not provide financial, tax, legal, or investment advice of any kind. It is a personal record-keeping tool only. Any suggestions or benchmarks shown in the app (for example, the Secure Family Checklist's insurance-cover or net-worth benchmarks) are generic, educational rules of thumb computed from your own entered data - not personalized recommendations from a licensed advisor, and no specific financial product or provider is being endorsed. For actual financial decisions, consult a qualified professional.
Lending & Borrowing records
The app's Lending & Borrowing feature is a personal ledger for tracking money you've informally lent to or borrowed from other people. PaisaVault is not a lender, does not extend credit, and is not a party to any loan you record - it is solely a record-keeping convenience between you and the other individual involved.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PaisaVault and its developer are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to data loss, missed reminders, or reliance on any figure or suggestion the app displays.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the "Effective" date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
